5k Fundraiser

On the Saturday 19th December 2020, at 10:00 a.m. GMT, I will be running in our annual fundraising event Vorsprung’s Track 10k/5k Winter Fundraising Run.

Despite having had a recurrence of glandular problems two weeks ago, and an increase in the severity of my PsA symptoms:
I will be running.

I have been advised not to and I know, in my own mind, for the sake of my own health, that, I shouldn't.

But, I am going to run.

We have all had a difficult year and some have varying degrees of problems they encounter daily. Most, though, are surmountable; most will eventually resolve; most will not leave you in a worst position than you were in before.

I may break my body further, I may end-up having to live in more physical pain and mental frustration at the inability of a body, that, no longer does what I would like it to do.

But, I am going to run.

Why? Because, the two things I do have that are secure are, a roof over my head and a citizenship in a safe country.

I am going to run to show support, and hope that you will show your support by donating to the
JustGiving link, for those less fortunate. For those, whose problems are insurmountable, and the resolution of whose problems are out of their hands.

Every penny of the money raised will go to our work with homeless and refugee organisations.

Our world-leading neuro-dynamic workshops are a proven way to help enhance communication pathways between the body-to-brain and the brain-to-body.

The results of which can relieve symptoms related to a social anxiety, dyspraxia, dyslexia, depression and trauma. For people struggle to find an identity or place in the world, having a better sense of control of one's own being helps to build confidence and an ability to (re)solve problems.

The work that
SCV engages in, helps to bring communities together: welcome new people into the community from other countries and re-socialise those back into the community who have been adrift. Through sports, SCV helps to encourage wider education of tolerance and participation within local community activities.
