It's true, that, everything is borrowed.
However, every influence, exercise, drill and routine has taken a journey.
Before we practice anything, Vorsprung takes everything through a myriad of tests, analysis and consultations. Every exercise is examined by a group of consultant orthopaedic surgeons, senior consultant physiotherapists, physiologists, consultant rheumatologists, cardiologists and various other therapists and practitioners. Once Vorsprung has approved the relative safety of each exercise, drill or routine, we field-test them over a number of months.
Vorsprung does not accept any exercises or drills blindly.
They have to go through this same process and be approved as safe and holistic by Vorsprung's standards. We are looking for details, that, perform and fulfil a very specific role:
• They must actively reduce injury risk.
• They must work a variety of body parts at the same time.
• They must be able to be adapted to embrace the Vorsprung neuro-dynamic element.
Not just exercises or drills go through this process, all influences go through a similar scrutiny. Whether it be, literature, music, art, architecture, politics, campaigns, design, cooking et al.
However, that last element - neuro-dynamics - is what makes Vorsprung so unique and makes teaching it so specialised.
Anyone can teach the physiology of movements. Anyone can understand the anatomy of the body. But, only an experienced, certified, qualified Vorsprung practitioner can teach and coach the exercises, drills and routines safely with the knowledge, that, one is imparting something unique to the pupil / participant / athlete.
Copying or profiting from Vorsprung drills or routines, without the experience and knowledge, leads to little improvement and potentially to injury. Not to mention being, decidedly, unethical and poor professional practice.
Two elements, where improvement is noticeable in the pupil / participant / athlete, is a reduction in brain hi-jacking, coupled with an enhanced communication pathway between the brain-and-the-body and the body-and-the-brain.
The brain will always hi-jack the senses. Which is why Vorsprung practitioners, carefully, alerts the body to this and embeds a more comprehensive and controllable sub-conscious element.
Taking this apart and putting it back together is a delicate, subtle and potentially dangerous practice. Which is why no exercise or drill or routine should be taught or coached by anyone, other than, an experienced and qualified Vorsprung practitioner / teacher / coach.
