'Who is Vorsprung's biggest motivation?'
Peter Coe. Without a doubt. He threw away the coaching rule book, and went back to science. He motivated Vranek to pursue a different path to all training programmes in sports clubs and sporting federation coaching programmes. He, also, gave validation to going against the grain.
'Who is Vorsprung's biggest inspiration?"
John and Yoko. There are, of course, many who get mentioned at various points in Vorsprung history. But, they are the main ones. They didn't care about being the 'clowns' or 'weirdos' and doing things differently. Their brave and self-assured belief in their work and campaigning drove Vranek to make Vorsprung what it is today.
'Who is Vorsprung's biggest influence?"
Vorsprung has many influences. That is the nature of its being. It has taken from everywhere and moulded all the influences into one holistic neuro-dynamic practice. If there is just one, who is the foundation stone, it has to be Per-Olof Åstrand. He wrote the 'bible' of physiology. He was the first 'go-to' resource to understanding physiology. A pioneer, himself. Without him there is no modern physiological influence on sporting activities.
*All were pioneers and lead the way along a different path. All, as with Vorsprung, have struggled to be heard and recognised above the plethora of the loud, the incorrect and the unchallenged. At Vorsprung, our 'mantra' is: when something is not working, why persist with it? When something is working, why not adopt it?
Be brave and be different and you will find success, improvements and joy…
